The Japan Foundation, an independent administrative agency under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, has released “JFF+ INDEPENDENT CINEMA 2023,” a content distribution program for overseas audiences focusing on the “mini-theaters” that support Japanese film culture.
IN FOCUS visited 10 mini-theaters across Japan to capture the thoughts of the people involved and the towns where the theaters are located. We were in charge of the planning and production of “MINI THEATER JOURNEY,” a 10-episode video that introduces the “present” of Japanese film culture and local culture from multiple perspectives.
We hope you will enjoy the documentary which will give you a sense of the culture and diverse values.
